The next Cabin John Citizens Association Red Cross Blood Drive is on Sunday, Jan. 31 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. at the Clara Barton Center. Please contact Karen Melchar or Loretta Ingalls at cjblooddrive@gmail.com to book a donation time. Drop-ins are welcome, but those who have signed up will have priority if there is a wait. The best time to drop in is late morning after 11 a.m. or in the afternoon. Bring others to donate with you!
CJCA President Burr Gray is also asking for volunteers. Many of the tasks do not require much time, but are key to making the blood drive a success. On the 31st, volunteers are needed to help setup, to pick up sandwiches for the Red Cross workers from Market on the Boulevard, and to help with clean up. Someone to pick up refreshments on Saturday is also needed. “We need people to take over these tasks for either a single drive or all three drives in 2016,” says Gray, “It’s time to give those folks who have been handling these tasks for the past 15 years a break.” Contact cjblooddrive@gmail.com if you can help.
