Celebrate the holiday season with your neighbors on Sunday, Dec.13 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Clara Barton Community Center. There is something for everyone at this event, including door prizes, crafts and other activities for children and a sing-along for all ages. The evening ends with a visit from Santa, who offers gift bags to all young guests.
There will be complimentary food (sushi, pizza, subs, and more) and drinks (hot cider, eggnog, sparkling cider, etc.) A raffle for gift certificates and other goodies from many of your favorite local merchants is held to support the annual holiday gift drive for families in transitional housing run by SOME (So Others Might Eat), an interfaith, community-based organization that provides food, shelter, education, training and other services to the poor and homeless in Washington D.C. More information is available at SOME.
This long-standing Cabin John event is co-sponsored by the Cabin John Citizens Association and the Clara Barton Community Center.
