CJ Serves Up Successful Crab Feast

More than 550 people feasted on crabs, chicken and vegetarian sides at this year’s Crab Feast, which raised some $4,500 to support Cabin John Citizens Association activities. There was something for everyone at the Sept. 19 event, including great tunes from the Starlight Orchestra, who once again donated their talents to entertain the crowd.

This year’s Crab Feast marked the tenth and final year of volunteer Tina Rouse as managing director. Over the years, Tina has coordinated an army of volunteers and through hurricanes, storms and fire alarms has made sure the show always went on. Tina said that she got into the Crab Feast business to meet cool people, and that, in fact, she had. Cabin John has benefited greatly from her work and spirit.

In a photo from the 2013 Crab Feast, Tina Rouse is with the somewhat charred chickenmeister Ritch Kepler at the end of a long day.
