Cleanup of Historic Moringstar African American Cemetery in Cabin John

Volunteers are needed for restoring pathways, improving access and removing trash.

Where: 7 Locks Road near Cypress Grove Lane & the Beltway Overpass
When: Saturday 23 June
Time: 9:30 AM

The Cabin John Citizens Association has organized several cleanup efforts at the historic cemetery. (The cemetery site is also where Moses Hall once stood.) As in past years, the local Cabin John Boy Scout Troop will be helping with the cleanup and restoration efforts, but additional volunteers would be much appreciated.

We ask that you bring working/yard gloves, loppers, and safety glasses if you have them. If you have a small saw that would work to cut down bamboo, that would be a great help.

CJCA will provide water and softdrinks/sodas. We expect to finish by noon.

If you can help or if you have questions, please contact Angela Coppola (contact us). It will be helpful to know ahead of time how many workers we have.
